SUNDAY, 2nd / 15th JULY 218: Following the Divine Liturgy of the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost, the Diocesan Cathedral of the Mother of God and the Holy Royal Martyrs in London held its Annual Parish Meeting. Chaired by His Grace Bishop Irenei, the meeting reflected on the past year of growth and activity in the Cathedral Parish — including the completion of its major frescoing project, the installation of a Memorial Cross to the Holy Royal Martyrs, improvements to its grounds, expansion of its provision for spiritual education and pastoral care, etc. — and looked towards the year ahead. Special points of discussion included the provision of new resources for the pastoral care of children and youth in the year ahead, new choir projects, an increase of pilgrimages, a focus on mission and spiritual formation / catechesis, and the development of future clergy of all ranks to serve in the Cathedral parish.
In a spirit of thanks to God for His benefits, and in optimism for the future, the meeting also approved the parish's financial status, reviewed plans for the consecration of the Upper Church in September, and elected members of the Parish Council.
