Bishop Irenei speaks on Russian Orthodox synodality, and attends Council of Bishops

22nd NOVEMBER 2017: Vladika Irenei has gone to Moscow for the Council of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church, and to share in the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the restoration of the Patriarchate of Moscow (November 1917). While in Moscow, His Grace will also take part in a meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church outside of Russia (ROCOR).

His trip to Russia follows his recent visit to Fribourg in Switzerland, where he took part in an international conference on the practice of Synodality in the Church, where he presented the customs of the Russian Orthodox Church amongst representatives from all the fourteen Local Autocephalous and Autonomous Orthodox Churches. A report of his visit to Fribourg can be read at on the Synod web site (and also in Russian).
